community plan committee
This standing committee is mandated by the Homeward Trust Board to prepare and update the Community Plan, which will identify the housing-related needs and priorities of Edmontonians. When approved, this plan guides the overall direction, resource commitments and priorities of Homeward Trust Edmonton.
Core Duties
As a part of developing this Community Plan, this committee:
- Ensures that key stakeholders have the opportunity to provide input into its strategic direction and priorities
- Manages the process and the preparation of the final strategy for consideration and approval of the Board and its member government departments and community organizations
- Ensures the Community Plan is in alignment with the Edmonton '10-Year Plan to End Homelessness' and other relevant Community Plans.
Membership
The current committee includes representation from:
- Government of Canada
- Province of Alberta
- City of Edmonton
- Homeless Commission
- Members from the Aboriginal Community
- Treaty 6 Confederation of Alberta
- Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta
- Metis Nation of Alberta
- Edmonton Coalition on Housing and Homelessness Society (ECOHH)
- Alberta Health Services
- Canadian Home Builders Association (Edmonton Region)
- Aboriginal Advisory Council Member
- In addition, representation will be sought from the Business Community and the Philanthropic Community.
