February 1, 2010 MEDIA ADVISORY ROOPH Awards Recognize Leadership and Service in Housing and Homelessness FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Edmonton) – On February 2nd, Homeward Trust Edmonton hosts the 5th annual ROOPH Awards - recognizing outstanding organizations and people in housing in Edmonton. Awards are presented in the following categories. The Larry Shaben Award for Outstanding Service in the Housing Sector Partnerships for Success Excellence in Building Design Exceptional Volunteerism in the Housing Sector Outstanding Service for the Aboriginal Community
All media are invited to join Homeward Trust for this annual celebration: 2010 ROOPH Awards Tuesday, February 2nd, 11:30 – 1:30 Westin Hotel (10135 – 100th St), Edmonton, AB Program commences at 12pm. Awards are presented at 1pm. The event will be emceed by Stacey Brotzel of City TV Edmonton. Mike Lake, Member of Parliament for Edmonton - Mill Woods - Beaumont, Doug Elniski, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Edmonton - Calder, and Edmonton City Councillor Karen Leibovici will bring greetings on behalf of the three orders of government. Iain De Jong, former director of Toronto’s “Streets to Homes” program, and an internationally recognized expert in housing, will deliver the keynote address.
Susan McGee, Executive Director of Homeward Trust Edmonton, will be available for interviews.
