Edmonton John Howard Society (OIPP), Dual Diagnosis

The Homeward Trust Fund has contributed a maximum of to fund an addictions support worker and programming costs for dual diagnosis clients (mental illness and addiction issues) at Satellite House. This program serves Individuals (men) with a dual diagnosis of mental health and addictions issues, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and require safe and supportive housing and services while undergoing counseling and treatment.

Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers (OIPP), Towards Inclusion
 Trinity Manor
This project will serve 82 immigrants and refugees living at Trinity Manor or The Haven who have been historically unsuccessful at adapting to life in Canada, with a particular emphasis on families who have severe and specialized issues that have left them at risk of homelessness. Towards Inclusion is a supportive housing outreach model and action plan that is used to assist families in progressing settlement issues, achieve greater success in academia, and work toward successful integration into Canadian life. The Homeward Trust has contributed funding to a maximum of on order to implement this program.

Oxford House Foundation (OIPP), Two House Single Story for Women
Adult women recovering from alcohol and drug addictions.Oxford House will provide supportive outreach service to women in recovery and are housed in one of their two houses. They will assist the women in staying clean and sober through encouraged programming and referrals to community resources. The outreach staff will oversee to the operations of the two houses, ensuring that the residents follow the house rules. The Homeward Trust has contributed funding to a maximum of .00 towards the support services/programming costs Oxford house requires.

Schizophrenia Society(OIPP), Peer Support Housing Pilot
Peer Support is a pilot project designed for individuals living with schizophrenia and related mental illnesses. Support services will be provided by pairing people with mental illness who have achieved exemplary levels of sustainability in the community and are capable of mentoring and advocating for their peers. The participants would use their experiential knowledge, as well as access relevant training to assist their peer/partner. An Occupational Therapist would supervise the program, assess the progress of clients, and recommend action plans.The Homeward Trust shall contribute funding to a maximum of toward the peers supportive and preventive services for their clientele.

Edmonton John Howard Society(OIPP), Youth Transitional House Supports
To provide support services for a Youth Transition House for males aged 16 to 24 years in Edmonton who have no place to live. Within this program, they will receive assistance in the areas of skills, experience and confidence to live independantly and successfully in the community.

Boyle Street Community Services (OIPP), Tent City Outreach
 Tent City
The Homeward Trust has contributed funds to a maximum of towards this project which is targeted at the homeless camps located around 96 & 97 Street and 105a Avenue. Boyle Street Community Services provides intensive case management and support services to people. The project will work with up to 60 people, with an appropriate caseload of 12 individuals per support worker.

Boyle Street Community Services, Pilot Project-Parklands
Funding was provided towards support services for homeless individuals residing on parklands and homeless camps to assist with obtaining and maintaining appropriate housing upon satisfactory commitment of available units. Potential clients will be identified through staff contact and River Valley Outreach, and will be placed in housing with the provision of appropriate support services and case management once clients are housed. Housing will be provided by various housing agencies and the private sector including but not limited to Talange Developments Ltd. and MacDonald Lofts. Supports will be provided to clients on a 24/7 basis and will include contribution towards necessary basic furnishings and supplies for clients to establish homes.

Edmonton City Centre Church Corporation (E4C), Case Management
Funding was provided to fund the establishment of a Case Management Team and associated Direct Client Costs, Innovative Fund, Capital Costs (computers, phones, & furniture), Supervision, and Administration Costs to support programs for families and individuals in need of housing, including early intervention and prevention programs.

E4C, Housing Support HUB
The Homeward Trust Fund contributed a maximum of to E4C to administer a collaborative web project of community organizations known as the Housing Support Services HUB. The HUB will serve clients with complex housing needs, resulting in a higher level of housing stability. The collaborative agencies are involved with a web of services, thereby providing a set of core services to member agencies whose staff work directly with individuals and families. The services add value and build the capacity of the service providers to increase the housing stability of their clients. Member agencies identify the people for whom they are seeking consultation and support from the HUB and continue as the direct service providers to the individuals and families.

YMCA , Pilot Project
Funding was provided to increase the YMCA's capacity on order to enhance its supports and programs for tenants in their transitional housing facility with additional staffing to provide outreach and case management to tenants who are ready to move into permanent housing.
