housing development
Homeward Trust funds and coordinates the development of new housing units for individuals and families who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in need.
How do we do it?
In addition to the construction of new housing units, Homeward Trust works hard to access market housing units for our clients. We work with landlords and property management companies to secure rental units for participants in the housing first program.
As part of our strategy to leverage funds and maximize their impact, Homeward Trust looks to our proponents building new housing developments to be able to attract and provide additional investment from partners.
Monitoring Process
For each development, there is a 10-20 year monitoring process. Homeward Trust undertakes this to ensure developments meet their intended need – serving clients in the best way possible – and to ensure that funds are being used appropriately.
When required, Homeward Trust operates and manages properties in need of improvement and support.
