| Bissell Centre Annex |
| Funding was provided to construct a two story building at 10530-96 Street, known as Bissell Centre West. Programs in this building include the Robert Tegler Friendship Room (Adult Drop-In), Adult Support Services, Independent Living Support Services, Employment Services, and Fetal Alcohol Specturm of Services. Funding also provided for for a new industrial kitchen across the street in Bissell Centre East. This facility provides meals for the Early Childhool Program, and twice weekly Women's Lunches, and it also servies at the space for Collective Kitchen and Cooking Classes for various programs.

Homeward Trust Contribution: Construction: $350 000, Industrial Kitchen: $150 000, Extended Hours: $100,000, Total: $600,000. | Capital Region Housing Corporation/NiGiNan Housing Ventures, Land Purchase | Funding was provided to Capital Region Housing Corporation for the purchase of property (7 land lots), on behalf of NiGiNan Housing Ventures Ltd. In partnership with CRHC, NHV intends to construct a four-storey apartment complex of with 42 units (24 studio, 15 one bedroom and 3 2 bedroom units) targeted primarily towards low income individuals and couples who require safe affordable housing and / or those suffering with chronic substance abuse who may also have mental illnesses and who require additional supports. Due to be completed 2009.

| Edmonton John Howard Society,Youth Transitional House Purchase and Supports | | Funding was provided to purchase a 6 bedroom house located at 10350 - 162 Street to provide accommodation and support services to homeless or at risk of homelessness youth who are transitioning from the corrections system into the community. 24/7 supports are available to ensure these young men have positive role models. The house opened in November 2008.

| Our House Addictions, Recovery Centre
| | Our House provides housing for clients recovering from addictions in a 60 bed facility with programming space. They recently relocated from an exisitng 32-bed location, and can now offer their services on a larger scale. Completed April 2008.
Homeward Trust Contribution: $3,368,610 | Oxford House Foundation, Two house Purchase
| Oxford House provides transitional housing for women in recovery from addictions. These two houses have 5 bedrooms each and are complete with a shared common area. Oxford has partnered with McDougal House to provide counselling supports for the women in this program. The program rents units to clients in a shared environment providing safe, healthy housing for women recovering from addictions, aiding the process towards becoming self-reliant. Completed 2008.

| Catholic Social Services, Rotary Centre
|  | Catholic Social Services has renovated an 18,000 sq. foot, 3-story, vacant apartment building located at 10615 - 103 Street and has transformed it into an emergency and transitional supportive housing facility. This 66-bed emergency and transitional housing facility provides emergency accommodations for 2 - 3 weeks (48 beds max.) and transitional housing for 3-6 months (18 beds max.) to recently arrived refugees and immigrants with special needs. A health clinic, child care area, collective kitchen, multi-purpose room, and offices are some of the supports this facility has available. Opened for clients December 2008.
Homeward Trust Contribution: capital construction: $1,453,700 & support services: $72,848 | Capital Region Housing Corporation, Operation Friendship
|  | This three storey builiding has 24 self-contained units and is built on 3 lots (located at 10415 - 95 Street) owned by Capital Region Housing Corporation. CRHC has entered into a lease agreement with Operation Friendship Senior Society (OFSS), who is responsible for providing tenants, facility operation, and providing supports to the clients. This new addition will be adjacent to the 20 unit apartment building already leased from Capital Region Housing by OFSS, totalling 44 supportive housing units. This project serves seniors, 55 years and older, that require higher levels of support for independent living. Due to be completed 2009.
Homeward Trust Contribution: $2,400,000 | Capital Region Housing Corporation, Bear Paw Apartments
|  | Construction of and to the property located at 11234 - 116 Street, Edmonton to expand the capacity of the current facility to provide housing and programming space for the Boys and Girls Club of Edmonton Bearpaw program. This site will comprise an office and common area/storage space, one suite for an on-site caretaker and accommodation for 13 youth (overall building capacity of up to 23 youth). This project will serve high-risk youth between the age of 15 -20 years requiring complex care and on-site 24/7 support and services. Due to be completed 2009.
Homeward Trust Contribution: $1,800,000 | The Edmonton Inner City Housing Society, HomeBase
| Funding was provided to construct a 26 unit, long term supportive housing facility located on 12223 - 97 street. The facility is for low income, disadvantaged singles of the Edmonton inner city communities. Homebase provides safe, healthy housing for clients needing support to become self-reliant. Due to be completed 2009.

| Excel Society, Lauderdale House

This six bedroom facility is designed to serve an “at risk”, homeless population, with the support of Alberta Health Services. This new, two-storey home, is completely barrier free and will serve both walking and wheelchair clients. The home has a wheelchair accessible lift to ensure all clients can move freely throughout.
Clients have dual-diagnosis, mental as well as physical or developmental needs. Completed June 2009.

Habitat for Humanity, Triplex Construction |  | Habitat for Humanity Edmonton (HFH) has constructed 3 triplexes (9 units) of long term supportive housing for two-parent and single-parent families with at least one child. Each unit is 2 storeys high with a basement and has a minimum of three bedrooms and one bathroom. Applicants must demonstrate need and help in the construction of their home and/or contribute their own resources. Completed 2008.
Homeward Trust Contribution: $520,000 | Hope Mission, Immigration Hall
|  | This project is dedicated to the redevelopment and renovation of 44 self-contained housing units (23 1-bedroom units and 21 bachelor suites). The facility is being developed and is will be operated as a transitional and long-term supportive housing facility. The chronically homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless are housed and offered support services provided and/or made available to clients by Hope Mission.This project serves the chronically homeless and/or at risk singles, childless couples and hard to house seniors including those of Aboriginal decent (approximately 40%). Due to be completed 2009.
Homeward Trust Contribution: the title of the property has been transferred which has an estimated value of $1.2 Million and has provided an additional $4,498,526 towards redevelopment, making the total contribution towards this project approximately $5.7 Million. | Schizophrenia Society of Alberta
| Funding was provided to acquire/purchase real property at 9336, 9338/9342 107A Avenue, complete predevelopment activities, and construct a long-term supportive housing project. Iris Court will serve a mimimum of 21 senior men and women who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, require affordable housing with long-term support and who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. 14 beds will be designed for seniors requiring more support, and the other 7 self-contained units will serve seniors who have less need. Due to be completed 2010.

| Winnifred Stewart, Joey's Home
|  | This is a 12 unit, two storey, long-term supportive housing facility (Joey's Home Complex) located at 11115/19 - 132 Street that is designed specifically for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. This facility houses low income individuals with developmental and physical disabilities who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and that require higher levels of support, as well as individuals who are able to live independently but need minor supports. Examples of supports include: assistance with personal care, cleaning laundry, medical appointments, banking and financial management, community access, personal shopping, assisting with purchasing gifts and arranging visits for family and friends, and all aspects of community living required by the residents. Completed end 2007.
Homeward Trust Contribution: $300,000 | Women Building Futures, Housing & Training Facility
|  | Women Building Futures Society (WBF)has a two storey building located at 10326 - 107 St. which was once an old warehouse. Women Building Futures renovated the existing structure and add an additional two floors to the building at 10326 - 107 St. to construct 42 transitional housing units as well as teaching, administrative, and retail space to support the program's training programs.By providing safe, healthy housing for low-income women (and their children) while receiving skills training, job preparedness, life skills and technical training, women will be prepared to enter well paying jobs and exit the program to live in market rentals or move to home ownership. Completed 2008.
Homeward Trust Contribution: $1,522,567 | YMCA, Renovations
| Funding was provided to provide renovations and upgrades to the YMAC's existing 106 residential building and common areas within its downtown housing facility. The changes will increase security and safety. This project serves men, women, couples and families who are in crisis or transition, homeless or at risk of homelessness and require housing to become more stable. Completed 2007.

| Umisk, Nellie Nome
|  | Funding was provided for the purchase of land and construction of a 6 unit six bedroom town house project. The facility was developed and is operated as long term supportive housing for large Aboriginal families with five or more children. An agreement with Concept Homes allowed for the land and building costs be sold at a guaranteed price, with no cost overruns. Completed 2007.
